Create a fundraiser on Facebook

If you prefer, you can set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook rather than creating a page on this site. Here's how:

• Click here to visit the Fundraisers section of Facebook.
• Click 'Select charity'.
• Search for Church Action on Poverty and click on its name.
• In the bar on the left, set the details of your fundraiser: the amount you hope to raise; the date it will end; a title; and a short explanation of why you're giving your birthday like this. You could copy some of the text from this site to explain the appeal if you like.
• Click 'Create', and your fundraising page will appear.
• Click the 'Share' button to send details of the fundraiser to all your friends on Facebook.
• We suggest you set the page up a week or two before your birthday, and send reminders as the date comes closer.
• Don't forget to thank everyone for donating.
• When your fundraiser closes, the money will automatically be forwarded to Church Action on Poverty.
