About Oceana
Founded in 2001, Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation. Our offices around the world work together to conduct science-based campaigns with measurable outcomes that will protect and restore the abundance of the world's oceans. With the help of supporters like you, we have already protected nearly 4 million square miles of ocean.
The oceans are vast - covering over 71% of the globe - but they are not immune to human influence. Threats like single-use plastic, offshore oil drilling, and destructive commercial fishing practices are polluting our oceans and threatening the marine life that depend on them.
