Hey there!

My name is Delacey and I am a student nurse from UBC, passionate about healthcare accessibility :)

Last year my dad and I participated in the Run for Rural Medicine and this year we are running with a bunch of my nursing classmates!

The Run for Rural Medicine donates all their proceeds to Hope Air; a charity that works to alleviate the financial stress of travelling long distances by car or train by providing free flights to city centers for patients in need.

I acknowledge that there are many worthy causes requiring donations at the moment and that money is tight, but we are hoping you can help us make a dent in healthcare access inequality!

Thank you for reading!

About Hope Air

About Hope Air

All too often, barriers of cost and distance prevent patients from getting specialized medical care in expensive cities far from home. But this barrier must be overcome; delays in treatment can cause unnecessary pain, untreated disease and permanent disability.

Hope Air is Canada's only national charity providing free travel and accommodations for Canadians in financial need who must access specialized medical care far from home.

In 1986, our first flight enabled a patient to travel for cancer treatment. Since then, Hope Air has arranged more than 160,000 travel arrangements for patients of any age, with any illness that is covered by the patients’ provincial health plans.

Hope Air has been chosen as one of Canada's best 100 charities by Maclean's magazine, MoneySense magazine and Charity Intelligence based on efficiency, transparency and need.

For more information please visit Hope Air's website.
