Support equitable access to experiential learning at UBC through the Office of Regional and International Community Engagement (ORICE) Student Learning Fund. ORICE gives undergraduate students the chance to take part in community-based research and experiential education that strengthens academic learning and builds real-world skills for today’s competitive job market.
Since 2021, the fund has helped remove financial barriers for students from marginalized communities by offering the Experiential Education Accessibility Award. Donor support has already provided twenty-two students with awards that helped them reduce work hours, participate fully in ORICE programs and gain meaningful experience in community-engaged research. Last year, nearly $8,000 was raised from 40 donors, setting a new record and expanding the number of awards available.
Your gift will go directly toward Experiential Education Accessibility Awards for the coming academic year, ensuring students who identify as historically, persistently or systemically marginalized can access ORICE programs without the burden of added financial strain.
Make your Giving Day gift to the ORICE Student Learning Fund today to help expand access to experiential learning opportunities for UBC students.
